ASV (Amphibious Solar Vehicle)

1. Description/Objective
ASV is an autonomous water surface vehicle that can carry out missions
independently. Participants are required to build a robot that uses solar panels as a
power source to see the terrain and air. Along the track, spotlights for solar panels
are installed so that the robot will keep running. Robots will compete to reach the
end of the track and the fastest will win the game.
2. Limitation of the Robot
1. The maximum dimensions of the robot is 30 cm x 10 cm x 25 cm (L x W x
H).
2. There is no weight limit.
3. ASV may only be powered by solar panels (No additional power sources are
allowed).
4. Robots cannot have capacitors.
5. The robot propeller may only be attached to the top of the robot
6. The robot will be quarantined after being checked by the committee.
7. ASVs are not allowed to damage the arena.
3. Match Rules
3.1. Match Method
1. Participants must be present 60 minutes before the match starts.
2. The order of the competition will be drawn openly by the committee
during quarantine
3. The participants will be given a chance to try the track before the
competition starts.
4. The session starts after the judge’s signal.
5. The maximum duration of one session is 90 seconds.
6. If a team pushes their robot, they have to start over.
7. Each team only gets the chance to repeat once per turn.
8. If the team has the opportunity to repeat, the score that will be taken is
the fastest time
3.2. Deciding the Winner
1. The winner is the robot that reaches the finish line with the fastest time.
2. If no one reaches the finish line, the longest distance with the fastest time is
taken.
3. The judges’ decision is absolute and inviolable.
3.3. Arena
1. The arena length is 7 meters.
2. The inner width of the arena is 15 cm and the height is 10 cm.
3. There will be a wet and dry track for the arena.
4. The maximum water depth is 5 cm.
5. There are 8 spotlights.
6. The distance between each spotlight is 100 cm.
7. The height of the spotlights is 35 cm above the arena.
8. The wattage of the spotlight is 500 watts.
