SUMO

1. Description/Objective
The participants build a sumo robot that can push the opponent's robots out
of the arena according to competition rules. The robot operator controls the
robot using the Remote Control.
2. Limitation of the Robot
1. The maximum dimensions of the robot is 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm (L x W x
H).
2. The maximum weight of the robot is 1 kg.
3. The robot that is used in this competition is a Sumo RC Robot that is
controlled wirelessly using a remote control.
4. The maximum amount of DC motor used is 2.
5. The maximum amount of power that is used by the robot is 12V DC.
6. All robots will be quarantined after being checked by the committee
7. Robots are not allowed to have a mechanism that could roll the opponent’s
robot.
8. Robots are not allowed to have any sensors.
9. It is not allowed to use any signal jammer that could potentially interrupt
another participant’s signal.
10. Robots are not allowed to damage the arena.
11. Robots are not allowed to have any projective tool.
12. Robots are not allowed to have a mechanism that could attach themselves to
the surface of the Arena.
13. Robots must be labeled with the name of each team in the front of the robot.
14. It is not allowed to modify the robots after quarantine.
3. Match Rules
3.1. Match Method
1. Participants must present 30 minutes before the match starts.
2. The match’s bracket will be shown by the committee during
quarantine.
3. The competition will be held using a Double Elimination system.

4. The competition consists of 3 rounds.
5. The time for each round is 1 minute.
6. Participants who had not or have not competed may not interrupt the
recurring competition.
7. It is permitted to do a test drive before the competition to ensure that
there is no error in the robot
8. Participants are strictly prohibited to litter the arena.
9. The starting position could be anywhere behind the starting line.
10. After the command “Siap-siap”, both robots are not allowed to move
11. The competition starts after the “mulai” command.
12. If the robot moves before the signal, the round will be repeated. If you
have done the same thing twice, you will be given 1 point to the
opposing team
13. Participants are not allowed to swap the robot’s battery during the
match.
14. Participants are prohibited from touching the robot after it enters the
arena and during the match. If the robot is touched, 1 point will be
awarded to the opposing team.
15. The robot is deemed to have won if the opposing robot has left the
arena.
16. If both robots leave the arena, the first one to leave the arena will lose.
17. If the two robots touch or touch each other, the match will continue
until time runs out. If time runs out and there is no winner, there will
be no additional points and it will continue to the next round.
18. If a component comes loose during a match, the match will continue
until someone wins or until time runs out. Then the robot can be
repaired again for 30 seconds.
19. The winner of the game is the team that has won 2 rounds.
20. If the time in the 3rd round has run out and both parties are still tied,
an additional round will be held, namely sudden death, where the
participants will play the match as usual but the game time is only 30
seconds, and if time runs out, then all robots must be stopped. The
robot that is closest to the edge of the arena is declared the loser.

3.2. Deciding the Winner
The robot that drops the opponent from the arena is declared the winner of
the round, if both robots fall from the arena, then the robot that falls last is
declared the winner, if both robots are still on the arena, then it is declared
a draw.
Addendum: If a robot does not move for 10 seconds after the signal starts,
the opponent will be declared the winner.
3.3. Arena
1. Arena is made of acrylic board..

2. The arena’s diameter is 150 cm.
3. There are two brown stripes in the center of the ring which are the
starting lines of 20 x 2 cm with a distance of 20 cm between the lines.
4. The outer boundary of the ring arena is a white line of 5 cm wide.
